The minor 3rd is an interval that spans 3 notes on the musical staff.  It consists of 3 semitones (half steps).  It can be practiced the following ways.

La - Do  or  Mi - So

Major 3rd Ascending

The major 3rd is an interval that spans 3 notes on the musical staff.  It consists of 4 semitones or half steps.  It can be practiced the following ways.  

Moveable Do:                       

Do - Mi

Scale Degree Numbers:   

1 - 3  

 

Sing the ascending intervals along with the recording using a system of your choice. Each interval will be played twice.
