Major 3rd Descending

The major 3rd is an interval that spans 3 notes on the musical staff.  It consists of 4 semitones or half steps.  It can be practiced the following ways.  

Moveable Do:                       

Mi - Do

Song References:               

Summertime (from Porgy and Bess), Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Mary Had a Little Lamb (1st and 3rd pitches)

Scale Degree Numbers:   

3 - 1  

Sing the major 3rd interval using the strategy of your choice.  Try using a different strategy the second time for greater understanding.  The interval will be played twice.
